About Eleanor

I grew up in Harbord on the Northern beaches of Sydney. My childhood was spent at the beach squeezing in between hundreds of people.

I would commute to art school via Queenscliff Hill and see the view of Freshwater, Queenscliff and Manly beaches from a height. One of my first drawings inspired by this view was of a surf carnival on Freshwater Beach at the end of January. It was packed.

I now have spent over half of my life living on the Mid North Coast of NSW.

I still paint and draw the beach using either oil or pastel. These artworks are highly detailed and usually quite small.

Living on the Mid North Coast of NSW has allowed me to explore other diverse landscapes. I also like to travel to beautiful natural settings far from home

I want to recreate my experience of a specific landscape through a range of personal mark making. I use many photographs as reference to create my version of that experience.  These artworks are usually quite large and completed using pastel on paper.
